I find the electric or hydraulic ones are very expensive. Any suggestions? After a couple times on the table they jump on with the leash attached. Then you hook the lead from the table on the dog. My dog gets terrible eye boogers. When I try to get them out he has a fit. The boogers get really stuck and it hurts him. Is there something I can do to get those nasty booger out? I use human eye drops to soften the crust. Rub it gentle. That should doit. Every morning I simply saturate a tissue or two with saline solution and clean my poodles eyes.
I squeeze the solution on her eyes. She seems to like it. Try distilled water. I was very skeptical and was told it could take several weeks, however we had great results within a week. Six weeks in and no more eye boogers! This is a little unorthodox but it worked with mine. I take them out very gently with my fingers or maybe just a piece and give them to my dog as a treat. At first I did it to show him what I was doing but he loved it so much that now he asks for them and loves to eat them.

Which means it has been trained by a professional on how to behave on the table and with the tools before the owner started grooming himself.
Please remember to include that bit of information, dogs do not just behave, professional groomers take the time to nurture and train your pet in the grooming environment to make it so they understand how to behave on the table.

If someone where to ask me what I wish more pet parents would do, I would say simply brush and comb your dog. The look on his face when I finally shaved the matting of of him and he realized he could open his mouth wide had me weeping.

But when the last one bailed only a day before my appointment, I decided to try it myself in part because I could not get in with anyone else on such short notice, and Ellie very badly needed a trim at that point.
